Galileo is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store your information when you use Galileo for 3D scanning of plantar surfaces and other body parts. Access to the App requires login via your organization’s OpenID provider.
Users must log in using their organization’s OpenID provider. We do not store OpenID credentials, but maintain a secure session token for the duration of your session.
The App uses Apple's TrueDepth camera system and/or the Structure Sensor to perform 3D scans of body parts.
These scans are used to generate 3D mesh models (e.g., OBJ or STL files), which are stored locally on your device.
This data is used solely to create the 3D mesh and is never used for facial recognition, user identification, tracking, or advertising.
Users may rename scans or allow the App to assign an auto-generated file ID.
In some cases, 3D mesh files may be transmitted securely to a cloud-based application for refinement, measurement, or analysis. These files do not include personally identifiable information unless explicitly provided by the user.
When selected to do so, scans are uploaded to the Protosthetic’s endpoint and are subject to their privacy policy if the user wishes the deletion of their uploaded scans they need to contact Protosthetic organization.
By using the scanning functionality, you consent to the use of the TrueDepth or Structure Sensor data as described. If you do not wish to share scan data, you may disable scanning or refrain from uploading mesh files for processing.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized crash logs and performance data (such as device type, operating system version, and app state) to help us monitor and improve app stability. These logs are retained for 90 days in accordance with Firebase’s privacy policy. Crash reports do not contain any scan content or personally identifiable information.
The Galileo application may request access to your device’s camera strictly for scanning functionality and file handling. These permissions can be managed through your device settings.
We may collect limited technical or usage data (e.g., device type, timestamps) to ensure operational efficiency and diagnose potential issues.
You have full control over your scan data:
You may log out at any time.
You may rename or delete any scan stored locally on your device.
You choose whether or not to upload your scans to the Protosthetic’s endpoint.
We use the data we collect to:
Enable core functionality, including scan creation, file naming, storage, and upload.
Facilitate secure login through OpenID.
Analyze crashes and improve app performance via Firebase Crashlytics.
We do not sell, rent, or use your personal or scan data for marketing, profiling, or advertising purposes.
Locally Stored Data: All scans are saved on your device and remain there until deleted by you.
Cloud Uploads: Scans are transmitted only when you choose to upload them to protosthetic’s organization’s endpoint.
This App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store data from children.
We implement Apple’s secure storage and transmission standards. Scan uploads use encrypted protocols (e.g., HTTPS). Your organization (Protosthetics) is responsible for the protection of uploaded data on their servers.
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We implement appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or unauthorized third parties will not be able to breach our security and access your information. Use of the App and transmission of data is at your own risk. You should only access our services in a secure environment.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in functionality, regulations, or practices. Any updates will be made available in the App or through your organization.
